متن کاملBiochemistry of the Wood-rotting Fungi
In an examination ofthe volatile metabolic products of the odoriferous fungus Lentinuoa lepideu Fr., Birkinshaw & Findlay (1940) identified the methyl esters of p-methoxycinnamic, and cinnamic acids. Another acid, anisic acid, was also present as an ester but the nature of the alcohol moiety was left undetermined, although it was considered that the ester was probably the methyl ester. Another ...
متن کاملWood-rotting Fungal Flora of Kanghwa Island
Through ten field surveys in Kanghwa Island from August of 1997 to March of 2002, total 107 specimens of wood-rotting fungi belonging to the Aphyllophorales were collected and identified to the species. They taxonomically amounted to 10 families, 31 genera, and 48 species. Among them, one family, Steccherinaceae, and four genera, Australohydnum, Castanoporus, Dacryobolus and Haplotrichum were c...
متن کاملSpatial Distribution of Echinococcus multilocularis, Svalbard, Norway
In Svalbard, Norway, the only intermediate host for Echinococcus multilocularis, the sibling vole, has restricted spatial distribution. A survey of feces from the main host, the arctic fox, showed that only the area occupied by the intermediate host is associated with increased risk for human infection.
متن کاملInterspecific combative interactions between wood-decaying basidiomycetes.
Competition is the most common type of interaction occurring between wood-decaying higher fungi. Since competition for nutrients in organic resources is effectively brought about by competition for space, the common division into interference and exploitation competition is not very appropriate. Fungal competition can be divided into primary resource capture (obtaining uncolonized resources) an...
